Pursuant to the guidelines for web sites issued in 2011 by the Minister for Public Administration and Simplification, the legal notes herein provide an account of the general characteristics of the contents of the web site, and instructions for correct use of the said contents, and specify liabilities and norms relative to use of downloadable material.

Copyright and use of the logo

The information, data, images, documents and all other material present on this web site are the sole property of the Dipartimento di Studi Umanistici (Humanities Department) of the Università degli Studi di Torino (University of Turin), Via S. Ottavio, 20 – 10124, Torino, except in such cases as are indicated otherwise. The aforesaid material is protected by copyright, and use of the said material is permitted only in compliance with copyright laws.

The material published in this web site may be used and downloaded solely for personal use and not for profit making purposes. Sending, publication, transmission or distribution of the said material in hard copy (paper) or digital or electronic form, by means of the Internet, e-mail or online service, or by means of any other technology or through means of transmission currently existing or which shall be developed in the future, is forbidden.

Publication of documents of the archive or of parts of the said documents is conditional upon receipt of prior authorisation from the scientific director of the Fondo Paul Kahle. Authorisation may be requested by filling in the online form provided for this purpose at the 'Info' section of the web site. Requests shall be processed at the very earliest opportunity.

Use of the logo of the Fondo Paul Kahle without prior authorisation in writing is prohibited. Authorisation may be requested by filling in the online form as described above.

Certain materials (articles, slides, papers) appearing on the web site are published in accordance with Creative Commons 3.0 licences.

The Department cannot be held responsible in any way for harm of any kind directly or indirectly caused by access to, or use of, this portal and the pertaining services, or by use of the interactive tools.

Access to external web sites

The Humanities Department cannot in any way be held responsible for the content, services and programs on the external Internet sites linked to the web site by means of hyperlinks, or for use of these on the part of users. The Department has no control, either direct or indirect, over the content or its use, or over the quality and exhaustiveness of the information provided by external web sites, responsibility for which is borne by the owners of the said web sites.

Downloads

The objects, programs and products (documentation, software etc.) which are, in the event, present on the portal and those which are, in the event, downloadable (downloads) are, except in such cases as are indicated otherwise, freely available, free of charge, solely for personal use and not for commercial purposes. In regard to the said items, the Humanities Department, in any case, provides no quality or security guarantees or guarantees relative to compatibility with systems.

The material acquired by downloading from the web site may be governed by copyright and by use and/or copying rights applicable by the owners of the said material. The Department therefore urges users to examine beforehand the conditions for use and pertaining rights and to make sure that they are not subject to any liabilities in this regard.

Privacy Policy

The privacy policy notice herein is issued pursuant to art. 13 of legislative Decree no. 196/2003 $ndash; Codice in materia di protezione dei dati personali (Personal Data Protection Code) – to persons interacting with the web services which can be accessed by telematic means via the address, www.paulkahle.unito.it, corresponding to the home page of the official web site of the Fondo Paul Kahle.

The privacy policy herein refers solely to the web site, www.paulkahle.unito.it, and does not apply to other external web sites access to which may be gained by users via links present on this portal. The notice herein is drawn up also in accordance with the indications provided by Recommendation no. 2/2001, which the European authorities for the protection of personal data – acting jointly as members the Group set up pursuant to art. 29 of Directive no. 95/46/EC – adopted on 17 May 2001 in order to set forth a number of minimum requisites for online collection of personal data, and, in particular, to set forth the manners for, and deadlines applying to, and the nature of, the information which the operators responsible for data processing must transmit to users when users connect to web pages, whatsoever the reasons for connection.

Please note that, pursuant to art. 13 of Legislative Decree no. 196/2003 – Personal Data Protection Code, the personal and registry office data provided by users to the site, www.paulkahle.unito.it, on registering, are collected and used for didactic and research purposes, and, specifically, for the sole purposes of enabling access to the documentation (examination of original documents on the premises and examination of digital copies on this web site) and/or of providing a service requested by a user (request for copies, authorisation to publish etc.). The said data may be transmitted to third parties solely for aforesaid purposes.

The data are processed for a length of time no longer than that strictly required for the purposes for which the said data were collected. Data rendered anonymous are used for statistical and research purposes.

The data are stored in the database linked to the Fondo Paul Kahle. The said data are stored in such a manner as will enable access thereto solely on the part of operators who have received authorisation to access the said data from the management of the Fondo.

While submission of data is facultative, service provision may be impeded in the event of failure on the part of the user to provide such data.

The operator responsible for data processing is the University of Turin, with registered office in Via Verdi 8, 10124 Torino. The location at which processing takes place is the networking and information systems centre, Centro rete Divisione Sistemi informativi.

In order to exercise their rights pursuant to art. 7 of Legislative Decree no. 196/2003 (accessing, correcting, updating and deleting data, legitimate objections etc.), users may submit a notice to this effect to the director of the Humanities Department (specify "privacy rights" in the object of the message).
