Introduction
- The sub-sub-series preserves a few documents, preparatory studies and notes by Kahle concerning the history of Islam. In this regard, Kahle wrote a chapter entitled “Der Islam” for the volume «Ägypten» of the Meyer’s Reisebücher series (Leipzig 1912) in which he provided an outline of the main institutions and traditions of the Islamic religion.
