Description

Manuscript and typewritten notes in Arabic by Paul Kahle concerning Abū Bakr al-Dimašqī's work «Nuṣrat al-Islām wa-a l-surūr fī taqri r-ı Aṭlas Māyūr». Al-Dimašqī translated into Turkish the famous «Atlas Maior» of Joan Blaeu, a work published in Amsterdam between 1662 and 1672, that contained 594 maps and around 3000 pages of text, and was the largest and most expensive book published in the seventeenth century.
