- Typewritten drafts of a complete version of the translation into German of Ibn Dāniyāl’s «Ṭayf al-Ḫayāl». The entire file has been left in the same order effected by Paul Kahle. Various excerpts from other versions of the translation into German, that integrate this version, were left out by Paul Kahle, and are therefore catalogued separately. In its original version, the file contained: 1) a copy of the initial part of Ibn Dāniyāl’s «Ṭayf al-Ḫayāl» signed with the date “(12.5.[1960])”. 2) a complete copy of the translation into German of Ibn Dāniyāl’s «Ṭayf al-Ḫayāl». Paul Kahle divided this copy into three separate parts, each of which corresponds to a single bāba. This copy is not dated. The first part comprises the chapters 1‐33 of the first «bāba», and is entitled «Ṭayf al‐Ḫayāl». The second part comprises the chapters 34‐58 of the second «bāba», and is entitled «‘Aǧīb wa-Ġarīb». The third part comprises the chapters 59‐76 of the third «bāba», and is entitled «Al‐Mutayyam». The translation of the final part of the third «bāba» is manuscript. Especially the part corresponding to the first «bāba» is markedly battered. The impression is that this complete copy was used by Paul Kahle as a “version of reference”, since it is full of notes and corrections in blue ink by Kahle himself. In red ink Kahle marked the number of the chapters of each «bāba »and the numbers of the verses of the poetic parts.
