Description: Two typewritten copies of the drafts of Max Meyerhof’s “Das Vorwort zur drogenkunde des Bērūnī”, with notes by Paul Kahle in the margin. These drafts contain the following chapters: "I. Einleitung"; “Der Verfasser”, “Die Drogenkunde des Bērūnī”, “Das von al-Bērūnī verfasste Vorwort”, “Zusammenfassung”. After a brief analysis of al-Bīrūnī’s works on simple drugs, Meyerhof translated a part of the famous pharmacopoeia of al-Bīrūnī, «Kitāb al-Ṣaydana fī al-ṭibb».
