Description: Typewritten drafts belonging to different versions of the translation by Paul Kahle into German of Ibn Dāniyāl’s «Ṭayf al-Ḫayāl». The entire file contains the drafts and the excerpts that were scattered. They belong to different versions preserved by Paul Kahle independently. From no single item is it possible to single out a complete version of an entire text, though different versions are identifiable in conformity with their arrangement, the layout of the typewritten page, the date (if marked), the typology of numeration of the pages. Thus, all these drafts and the excerpts could be subdivided into files that seem to correspond to different "phases of work" (namely phases “A”, “B”, “C”), no one of which manages to provide a complete translation of an entire «bāba» of the play. It is to be noted that the translation referable to phase “A” proceeded from a transcription of the Arabic text with critical apparatus.
