Description
- Typewritten excerpts pertaining to various versions of the Arabic edition by Paul Kahle of Ibn Dāniyāl’s «Ṭayf al-Ḫayāl». This sort of critical edition of the Arabic text was conducted by Kahle from the manuscripts which have been preserved, ie Mss Istanbul, Madrid, and Cairo, copies of which are in the Archive. It is important to note that some versions have a critical apparatus, while others do not. Furthermore, several pages of a version supplied with the critical apparatus, fully vocalized, that were similar to those sent to the Cairene editor (i.e., in all likelihood, Muṣṭafā al-Bābī al-Ḥalabī) for the Arabic edition of Ibn Dāniyāl’s «Ṭayf al-Ḫayāl» personally edited by Kahle, are preserved. Please note that the Arabic edition was never finished, nor was it edited by Kahle.
