Description: Typewritten drafts of a complete version of the translation into German of Ibn Dāniyāl’s «Ṭayf al-Ḫayāl». This German translation was never published. This copy seems to be the previous version of the one signed by Kahle as “II”, therefore it could be considered “I”. Paul Kahle preserved this version in a single file, without dividing the text into parts. It has therefore been left as Kahle ordered it. Although the file is complete, it is composed of various excerpts taken from different versions, some of which are dated (from 19.7.60 to 16.8.[60]) and a number of others are typewritten on yellow paper. The first part of the file comprises the chapters 1‐33 of the first «bāba», and is entitled «Ṭayf al‐Ḫayāl». The second part comprises the chapters 34‐58 of the second «bāba», and is entitled «‘Aǧīb wa-Ġarīb». The third part comprises the chapters 59‐76 of the third «bāba», and is entitled «Al‐Mutayyam». This copy has many notes and corrections in blue ink by Kahle. Only on some pages did he mark in red ink the number of the chapters of the «bāba» and the numbers of the verses of several stanzas.
