Description
- Ten typewritten versions of the complete translation into German of the «Li‘b al-Timsāḥ» (Play of the Crocodile) used for the performance that took place in Stuttgart, November 19, 1924, at the Württ. Landestheater. Paul Kahle translated into German the entire play (in a modern version) for the theatre company that performed it, using the old figures. Each copy was assigned to an actor; some of the copies were signed in pencil by the actors themselves: one copy was that of the main character called “Zibrikāsh”, performed by Leopold Biberti; another was that of the character “Mūkeddim”, performed by Karl Köstlin. These are the only two copies dated “19/X/1924” and signed.
