Description: File containing a copy of the drafts of the translation into German by Paul Kahle of (parts of) al-Bīrūnī’s «Kitāb al-Ǧamāhir fī maʻrifat al-ǧawāhir». The manuscript version used for the translation is Ms Istanbul, Serai Library, no. 2047, 192 ff. Kahle translated only the chapters dealing with «yāqūt», «al-bullawr», «al-zuǧāǧ», «al-mīnā», «al-aḏrak». Attached are various manuscript pages, not in order, regarding all of the “items” translated, versions and revisions made by Kahle. Kahle used (part of) these translations for his article on the topic.
